On January 4th, almost 200 guests enjoyed dinner and drinks while learning about current and exciting new investment opportunities at our latest Investor Information Dinner, held at Blue Grillhouse in Bethlehem.

Even though the morning brought wintry weather and bitter cold temperatures, it was a packed house, filled with both current and prospective investors; in fact, it was our largest turnout yet for prospective investors. Current investors also enjoyed a pre-dinner happy hour with hors d’oeuvres and a private informational session with Don.

Don began the dinner presentation by giving a brief history about how he got started in the real estate business at such a young age, primarily through an entrepreneurial mindset, strong work ethic, and a focus on providing solutions. Don recapped highlights of an extremely successful 2017 for current investors, including: achieving all targeted returns for the year; raising over $14 million in capital for the fourth quarter which includes 28 new investors and over 30 existing investors; and capping off a big year with over $50 million in new capital invested in 2017.

This was just one of several dinners that current investors Horace and Sonya C. have attended. They have invested in the DLP Income & Growth Fund I since 2016. Sonya commented, “We were introduced to DLP by a friend and co-worker, Charles (Bud) B. and his wife, Sandy, also investors. We have been very pleased with our investments and returns and will continue to recommend Don to others.” Don also spoke about why prospective investors should consider joining the DLP family. Highlights include: fixed returns as high as 10% and partnership returns as high as 17%, with significant tax advantages.

Radio personality and long-time supporter of DLP Bobby Gunther Walsh attended, praising Don and his passion for solving all kinds of real estate issues. Gunther commented, “I met Don 10 years ago, and was surprised that a young man of his age could actually help me. However, after careful vetting, I put my trust in him and I’m grateful that I did. Over the years, Don has found me a home to buy, he’s sold my home, helped with renovations through DLP Construction, and I continue to invest with DLP Capital Advisors, enjoying the benefits and returns.”

Don also introduced several new and exciting happenings at DLP, such as the brand new DLP Positive Fixed Returns Fund coming later in Q1. Additionally, on January 1st, DLP launched the DLP  Positive Returns Foundation. Don commented, “Through this foundation we will focus on solving housing needs, offering micro-loans to entrepreneurs to enable them to be self-supporting, and much more. In many ways, we are doing the same things we do everyday in our for profit companies but are providing these services (housing and capital)  to those truly in need.”

Before opening up the room to questions, Don gave a brief summary of DLP’s expansive growth this past year, which will continue into 2018. He commented, “Our employees have increased by over 60% and Direct Lending Partners has increased by 250%, expanding into 20 additional states. We’ve sold 1,207 homes, acquired over 3,000 apartments, and closed 274 loans. This will be an exciting year of opportunities with DLP and we’re hopeful that you will achieve your own financial rewards thru Dream Live Prosper.”

The event wrapped up with the announcement of two lucky prize winners from the evening’s raffle. Congratulations to Jayne S. and Bill A., winners of two $500 value prizes toward their choice of a DLP Investment or  a stay at one of our DLP Vacation properties.
